Remember the post about unruly passengers we published the other day? Today we prepared a nice follow-up for you. If you are a martial arts enthusiast, you will find it particularly interesting. But you on the other hand happen to be a troublemaker tending to mess with female flight attendants, your days are numbered provided you have the misfortune of coming across a flight attendant on board a Hong Kong Airlines’ aircraft.
Why? Well, the reason is that flight attendants of this airline now receive a compulsory training in Wing Chun which is a form of Kung Fu designed for close-range combat in confined spaces.
Recent months have been a good time for both devotees of female charm and aviation enthusiasts and especially for devotees of aviation-themed female charm.
To start with, Ryanair released the 2011 edition of its charity calender where a noble cause was combined with the glamour of the stripped off female flight attendants of this Irish carrier which is one of the biggest low-cost airlines.
We have finally come to Friday hence no heavy topics in today’s post – just one interesting bit of news for low-cost travellers and a couple of words to everybody reading our blogg. First, the news.
The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair came up with a piece of news that for once is not yet another cry for attention. The carrier intends to try out a reserved seating service. The testing round will be kicked off as of May 16, 2011 on Rynair’s routes from Dublin to Malaga and from Dublin to London Gatwick. This extra service will cost €10 each way, include priority boarding and will give passengers the opportunity to reserve seats in the front two rows.
When asked who is the biggest individual and most colourful personality of the aviation industry, many would answer it is sir Richard Branson, the mastermind behind the Virgin-empire and a pioneer in the field of private space travels. Now it appears as though the achievements of the British visionary and entrepreneur are bound to be overshadowed as soon as the Ikaros aircraft goes into the mass production.
Incredible as it is, Ikaros is the prototype of a towed airliner. Even though the project is still in the experimental phase, the interest on the part of numerous carriers is huge.
The prevailing picture of New Zealanders is friendly, outgoing and informal people and the image of New Zealand’s national carrier – Air New Zealand – as a somehow relaxed airline fits with it! In case you need a living proof of the latter, look no further but take a look at this hilarious safety instructions video which has created a sensation on the internet.
The video is slightly flamboyant for a safety instructions video but is just perfect for both passengers and disco fans world over. It stars the American fitness celebrity – RichardSimmons and makes you want to dance.
When it comes to in-flight food, which nowadays is a regular ancillary service and no longer and obvious part of the flying experience, we can observe a stratification which by and large comes down to two trends. Low-cost airlines overcharge you for a dishwater of a coffee and a child portion of insipid food which makes them what they are: low-cost.
On the other hand there are those more traditional carriers offering a variety of products depending how much you are willing to put up. That kind of diversity is surely advantageous in that is gives one a freedom of choice. Let us take a look at just a few examples of airlines know for quality food.
