Vueling to set up a new base

November 10th, 2010

It seems as though the low-cost airline Vueling based in Barcelona is planning to set up a new base at Toulouse Blagnac Airport probably next year.

This new development is interesting indeed in that the carrier definitely prefers domestic bases.
The reason for that is associated with managing workforce outside Spain. The CEO of Vueling admits the company is not fond of risk-taking but at time same time some amount of risk is inherent in any trade activity. Underlying this decision was the necessity to utilise the carrier’s extra capacity.

While Vueling still will be targeting domestic airports when setting up new bases, is seems pretty sure that we will see the opening of the first overseas base since the carrier Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
