Here come some breaking news from the world of airlines and airports. Flying with the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair? We bet “free of charge” is the last phrase you associate with the its business model. Brace yourself for a surprise.
A couple of days ago Ryanair took aback everyone by announcing it would introduce a free sms service. Although the airline is known for its punctuality, passengers who face delays of over 90 minutes will get free real-time updates on their mobile phones. Thereby the airline departs from its tradition of charging for all optional services.

It seems as though the much anticipated opening of the new airport for the capital city of Germany will be postponed with as long as a couple of months as a result of fire safety flaws.
The new airport is named after one of the German chancellors: Willy Brandt Airport. Its opening was scheduled to June 3, 2012. It is meant to replace the two existing and aging Berlin airports: Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schonefeld. Now it turns out both the aviation industry and travellers will have to patiently wait even to the second half of August.
