Iberia Express launched. General strike in Spain

This week brings us some exciting news from the world of airlines. Again it is Spain that is the centre of attention.

Finally, the low-cost airline which is an attempt to save the finances of its mother company Iberia, has been launched. Iberia Express is Iberia’s response to its lowcost airlines competitors. According to the website of the new carrier, flights will be on sale from March 28, 2012.

Vueling: baggage allowance 2012

In today’s installment of our series devoted to the baggage policy of various low-budget airlines as well as traditional carriers, we will take a look at one the of best European low-cost airlines – the Spanish Vueling.

Vueling carry-on baggage

Passengers are permitted to carry onto the plane 1 piece of cabin baggage weighing no more than 10 kg and measuring up to 55x40x20 cm. In addition to that, one can carry one more item e.g. a camera, a handbag or a briefcase. The additional piece of baggage should be smaller than 55x40x20.

Vueling to add new Barcelona flights

While Iberia permanently deals with stike threat, another Iberian carrier – the low-cost airline Vueling is continuously expanding. Recently Vueling annouced good news concerning its base in Barcelona.

New routes and services & update

Air France has recently extended its route-network with as many as 13 new services. Apart from the new Nantes – Brussels and Nantes – Düsseldorf routes, this French carrier extended the offer from Marseilles. Passengers from Marseilles Airport can now fly to e.g. Athens, Basel, Copenhagen or Milan Malpensa.
