We begin with the flag carrier of France. Air France has extended its offer of flights from Marseilles Airport. Now travellers from this airport may fly directly on two news routes: Marseilles – Prague and Marseilles – Eindhoven.

It was with pomp and circumstance that Hawaiian Airlines opened its next transatlantic route from Honolulu to Osaka. It is not the first service to Japan from this Hawaiian carrier – the first one was launched to Airport Tokyo last year.

We begin this week with an update on what is new the schedules of various carriers worldwide – both low-cost airlines and traditional carriers – so that you are well-informed.
We start off with the Luton-based easyJet and its new route from London Gatwick to Zagreb. The new route will connect London and the Croatian capitol five times a week. Fares start at £25.99 one-way. There is more news from easyJet – another new route will carry all Sun-loving travellers from Belfast to Malta twice a week. Malta will thereby become the carrier’s 25th destination available from Belfast. The cheapest February fare at the time of writing is £55.99.

In this post we would like to mention an airline which does not appear on our blog too often – Hawaiian Airlines. The reason is that the inaugural flight connecting Honolulu and Tokyo took place.
The maiden flight was celebrated with pomp. The festivities included among others a Japanese dance performance and traditional Hawaiian blessing.
The flights on this route will be adapted to the expectations of Japanese travellers both in terms of food and in-flight entertainment.
The CEO of Hawaiian Airlines pins his hopes on the expansion to the Asian markets which hangs together with adding of new aircraft to the carrier’s fleet. The next step in strengthening of Hawaiian Ailines’ presence in the region is Seoul Airport.

Hawaiian Airlines and Delta Air Lines announced the signing of a new codeshare agreement. Delta’s customers will now have the access to connecting flights within the Hawaiian Islands. Beginning September 15, customers will be able to connect between their Delta flights and 70 daily inter-island flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines on a single ticket. Hawaiian flights will connect Delta customers between Honolulu and Kahului, Lihue, Kona and Hilo, as well as from Kona to Kahului.
Delta will offer nonstop service from Honolulu to Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. It also launches nonstop service from Los Angeles to Kahului airport in Maui, Lihue and Kona, and daily nonstop flights between Honolulu and Tokyo-Narita and Osaka. Delta also has announced plans to add new nonstop flights between Honolulu and Nagoya from December 22.

Alaska Airlines launched a “Hawaii Now” airfare sales with fares available from only USD 149 one way for flights from West Coast and USD 199 for flights from Alaska to Hawaii. Airline tickets are available until August 15 and travel must be completed by November 10, 2010.
As a part of the Hawaii Now fare sale, Alaska Airlines Vacations is offering up to $250 off a full line of complete vacation packages for reservations made online. Bookings must be made by September 30, 2010, for travel between August 6, 2010, and January 11, 2011. For details continue to alaskaair.com.
