The Italian-based traditional airline Alitalia celebrates the second anniversary of its presence on the market.
From the AEA traffic statistics, it appears that last year this carrier carried over 23 million passengers with its fleet of cirka 150 aircraft.

This time we decided to bring up the subject of Alitalia in our series concerning the luggage policy of different airlines. Let us investigate into how much stuff you can pack in your bags when flying with this Rome-based carrier. Before we go into the details, we have to mention that Alitalia stresses that any substance seen upon as liquid is subject to restrictions.
The hand baggage term in applied both to briefcases, portable computers and stuff like crutches and strollers. The latter two ones have to be checked in though. One is allowed to carry only one piece of hand luggage on-board the dimensions of which must not exceed 55 cm in length, 25 cm in height and 35 cm in breadth. The permitted weight is 8 kg. Needless to say, one cannot keep any objects which can even remotely pose a threat in their hand baggage – so forget about knives, lighters or even toy guns.
