Low cost airlines’ baggage policy: Air Southwest

February 10th, 2011

In this article of our series presenting the baggage policy of various carriers, we would like to briefly look into how just many kilograms one can cram into the overhead bin as well as the ample baggage hold when flying with the Plymouth-based low-cost airline Air Southwest.

Carry-on baggage

This British low-budget carrier is not so very strict on this issue as it allows its passengers to carry on board both one piece of luggage and a laptop. Your hand baggage must not exceed the following measurements: 56cm x 45cm x 25 cm and 10 kg in weight whereas the laptop – in case you have one with you – should be placed under your seat. Needless to say, the hand baggage exceeding the maximum dimensions or not allowed on board for any other reason will have to be checked in.

Air Southwest – a rare promotion

July 30th, 2010

Today’s highlight is a promotion which is somewhat special in two respects. First of all, Air Southwest is not exactly the kind of carrier which is assailing us with promotions every God’s given day. Secondly, it is not every day that discounted flights to the Isle of Jersey are accessible.

Let us take a peep at how much one can spare on this offer. The standard Bristol – Jersey fares in August range from GBP 67 to 99 GBP while the promotion implies savings of more or less half the original price. We need to emphasise that you cannot get these fares displayed on your screen other than by using this special link.

It remains to add that the promotion is valid until 9.00AM August 2, 2010 and encourage you to visit the carriers website for details.

Air Southwest to start flights between the South West and London

March 10th, 2009

Air Southwest is set to revolutionise air travel between South West England and London with the launch of a twice daily service to London City Airport, in the heart of the capital, from both Plymouth and Newquay airports.

From April 20, Plymouth City will be linked directly to London City, twice daily. Flying time from Plymouth to London City will be just over an hour, shaving hours off the same journey by rail or road. Flight times will give South West business travellers a full business day in the capital.

The new service also provides a twice-daily link from Newquay to London City, meaning that Cornwall’s business travellers can also benefit from a full day in London, with the convenience of flying from Newquay Airport.  This expansion will further strengthen Air Southwest’s route network from Newquay, where the airline is already the largest operator.

Te new flights complement Air Southwest’s four times daily London Gatwick service, which operates seven days a week from Plymouth and Newquay.
