New low-cost airline from Lufthansa & new routes

September 17th, 2012

Interesting rumours are circulating about Lufthansa. The airline’s management will reportedly present plan for an entirely new low-cost airline at the supervisory board meeting later this week according to the German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

The carrier refused to comment on the issue so we have no choice but to wait and see if there comes an announcement within the course of this week.

Another interesting piece of news is the short-distance expansion of Virgin Atlantic. In one of our previous posts we wrote about the planned London – Manchester route (read New airline routes). The plans go further and include also Aberdeen Airport and Edinburgh Airport which both will be connected with London.

Italian fliers travelling to Brussels have now bigger choice of carriers. As of September 10, the Italian low-cost airline Air One offers flights Venice – Brussels twice a day.
