Emirates baggage allowance 2012. An update

September 12th, 2012

Are you about to fly with Emirates and ask your self «How much hand luggage can I take on an Emirates flight?» Read on!

Emirates cabin baggage

Those who travel with economy class are allowed to carry on board one item of hand baggage. It cannot be larger than 55 x 38 x 20 cm or 22 x 15 x 8 inches. The maximum allowed weight is 7 kg or 15 lb.

There’s an exception to Emirates’ hand luggage policy that applies to travellers boarding in India. Their carry-on luggage cannot exceed 115 cm or 45.3 inches (L + W + H).

Do you happen to travel with an infant? The you’re allowed to take with you a fully collapsible stroller or a carry-cot provided there is enough room in the cabin. Last but not least – duty free items are allowed as well.

Emirates baggage allowance

The checked baggage allowance varies depending on the route. On most routes, e.g. Amsterdam – Dubai or Dubai – London the standard allowance is 30 kg per passenger. Make sure to have a look at the Baggage Allowance Calculator at the website of Emirates.

One exception to the standard allowance are routes from the Americas. Economy class passengers can check-in as much as two items of baggage weighing up to 23 kg each.
